? Apply by October 15 for M.S. in Applied Finance and M.S. in Global Business; Start January 7, 2013

LOS ANGELES, CA ?Pepperdine University?s Graziadio School of Business and Management is accepting applications for new classes starting January 7, 2013 for its Master of Science in Applied Finance and Master of Science in Global Business programs. Candidates must apply by October 15, 2012. Both accelerated programs make it possible for college graduates with limited or no work experience to earn a graduate business degree on a full-time basis in half the time of a traditional two- or three-year MBA program.

Master of Science in Applied Finance

The M.S. in Applied Finance program provides an intensive 12-month curriculum covering finance fundamentals, without the theory and quantitative components needed for an MBA. The program prepares students for entry-level and early-career opportunities in corporate finance, financial planning, commercial banking and other professional finance jobs.

This full-time program is designed for new and recent college graduates with undergraduate degrees in Humanities, social science and other liberal arts disciplines. With this degree, non-business majors receive the credentials to launch a career in business or broaden their current career path with solid financial expertise.

Enrolled international business students with an F-1 visa may be authorized for 12 months of employment in the U.S. after graduation, designated as Optional Practical Training (OPT). U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) authorizes this type of work permit based on the recommendation of the Designated School Official (DSO) at Pepperdine University. Students in the M.S. in Applied Finance program can apply for an additional 17-month extension, which, if granted, allows them to work for a total of 29 months on OPT.

Master of Science in Global Business

The M.S. in Global Business program provides recent non-business majors, who have limited or no work experience, with an understanding of the global economy and its markets. This intensive full-time, 15-month program provides business fundamentals from a global perspective and first-hand immersive international experience.

Graduates either complete internships with international companies or study abroad to qualify for entry-level or early career opportunities in business.

Students who study abroad have the option of spending either one week or one full trimester outside the U.S. The Graziadio School?s Global Programs Office fosters partnerships with nearly 40 prestigious universities throughout Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Courses taught in other countries may be taken in English or in the host country?s language.

The Master of Science in Applied Finance and Master of Science in Global Business degrees qualify recipients for course credit toward an MBA should they wish to purse the year or more of additional study required for the master of business administration degree. Classes for both programs are held at Pepperdine?s oceanside Malibu, CA campus.
